The TAG Heuer Monaco Bamford Hits the US for Pre-Order, Details and Pricing
One of the standouts of the brand’s 2018 releases is now available for pre-order in the US. You better act quick!
TAG Heuer has officially opened the pre-order list for the Monaco Bamford Chronograph. As you may have noticed, this watch was all the rage of Baselworld 2018. This piece is the first fruit borne from the collaboration between George Bamford and the TAG Heuer team and word on the street is, you better act quick. Only 500 pieces will be made with just a fraction being allocated to the US market.
What Makes the TAG Heuer Monaco Bamford Special?
We went hands-on with the TAG Heuer Monaco Bamford during Baselworld and this writer was mightily impressed. You can read our hands-on article, HERE.
What makes this piece stand out against the existing Monaco lineup? Well for starters, it’s unlike any Monaco ever made. Instead of opting for the traditional stainless-steel case, Bamford and TAG Heuer have created an entirely new case out of carbon.
And this isn’t just any carbon fiber. The Monaco Bamford features a strengthened lightweight 39mm black carbon case which as you can see from the photos, is unique to this model. The case also pairs well with the watch’s matte black dial.
A few more exuberant Bamford touches remain, such as aqua blue markers and carbon chronograph pushers. Making it again, the complete opposite of any Monaco currently made. Powered by TAG Heuer’s robust Caliber 11 automatic chronograph movement, which is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Boasting a power reserve of 40 hours and water resistance to 100 meters.
Pricing & Availability
While the design and tech specs are all well and good, another appealing factor is the strict limited availability of this watch. Just 500 will be made and only a fraction of those pieces will be allocated to the American market. Which may just make this one of the most limited TAG Heuer’s produced in the last decade.
Each watch will be engraved with “Monaco Bamford” on the caseback and will come fitted to a black alligator strap. The price is $8,100 USD and the pieces will only be available at TAG Heuer boutiques and TAG Heuer’s e-shop. TAG Heuer expects to begin deliveries by September 18.
